Happy VD to All, and to All A Good Night!

I have accomplished only one thing of any merit in my life. Most everything I've done in my 31.5 years of life could probably have been done by a well trained spider monkey. Sure, I made a Canadian celebrity and his Communications Director laugh once, but it's not like the comedy world is exactly knocking on the door with job offers. I can say with some pride that I have climbed mountains, swam in vast cold oceans, got in the water with a whale shark the size of a frakking Greyhound bus, and I've even jumped out of a perfectly good airplane. Twice. Still, none of this really amounts to anything in my mind; lots of people of all shapes and sizes can make similar claims. For all of the cool things that I have seen and done only one thing truly matters to me. Truly counts as a worthy achievement.

I don't think anyone has ever said it better than Sir Winston Leonard Spencer-Churchill
My most brilliant achievement was my ability to be able to persuade my wife to marry me.
Now, to put that into perspective, this is a guy who survived the goddamn Blitz, was the first only person in Europe to tell Hitler to go piss up a rope, and eventually defeated the Nazi scourge. The biggest thing I've ever defeated is The Covenant, but I totally understand where he's coming from. The day I asked Mrs. Attack Resistance to marry me is the single greatest thing I have done to this point in life. I cannot imagine trying to live through this life without her.

Churchill also said,
There is nothing more exhilarating than to be shot at without result.
Let me tell you, he's completely right about that, but I'm not allowed at Chuck E. Cheese anymore so I shouldn't have those problems anymore.

In the end, there's only one thing to say:
I love you Mrs. Attack Resistance!

  2. Why would buy a watch thinking it was dynamite? There are easier ways to break up with a girl you know. Oh wait... you meant...

Thanks for the compliment, that entry made her cry at work (which is a much better reason than her usual catalyst for crying at work)!

  4. I love that lady, to be sure!

You have no idea how long it took me to find the PERFECT Valentine's Day photo to open the blog with. So worth it.
